Every year the women repair their mud houses after the rainy season and add new decoration. This year we started a contest and gave prizes of stainless steel pots. The most beautiful one got the biggest pot! Please note that several of our teachers live in these traditional huts ! These ancient people are the original indigenous people of Rarh.

Rice is in at Matri Sneha and the 25 live-in hostel children have fun thrashing the rice beside their studies. Visitors enjoy the big pond that serves to keep water for irrigation.
This was a major work accomplished on our Uma Nivas Women's College and Primary School construction: the roof casting on the ground floor a heavy work that lasted 45 hours with different shifts of labour groups. Now as the roof is curing and the villagers take in their rice harvest we are getting ready for the next phase of the construction work - the second floor.
