During the construction of the Women's College the girls from the Ananda Marga High School help to clear the land for the boundary wall. They enjoy jack fruit from their gardens. According to Shrii P R Sarkar the Jack fruit originated here in Rarh which is a land mass in West Bengal that once was part of ancient Gondwanaland. Ananda Nagar where Uma Nivas is located is in hilly area of Western Rarh that has not been under water for 300 million years.

Freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose's Birthday was celebrated with a parade, poems, songs, dances and various colourful creative displays. The newly enrolled girls showed their talents and the graduating students did a spectacular dance drama to the grand applause of all. All enjoyed the spirit of the day.
35 participants completed 200 hours of Yoga Teacher Training with Dr. Pashupati at the Ananda Marga Girl's High School. The participants came from all over India, Vietnam, Spain, Malaysia and Egypt.
This year's Mud House Art Contest in Damrogutu Village was exciting as there was a lot of improvement from our first contest last year. It seams that idea caught on and especially the younger girls enjoyed experimenting with new colours and designs. We distributed 30 prizes of house hold items and the women enjoy the gathering at the Ananda Marga Girls' High School.
After finishing the roof in the heat of summer the rains brought relief, drenched the land in lush green. The work force took time out to grow rice and made progress indoor plastering the walls. They used the rainwater that has gathered on our roof. The timing was perfect ! Thank you all for helping with the roof and for helping us to finish this huge construction soon. We are hoping to be able to have some classrooms ready for the new school term in January 2020. The children are ready!
The final roof on our women's college (Ananda Marga College - Uma Nivas Campus) is done! Due to the heat we started at 3PM and finished at 3AM. Storm, lightning and rain clouds passed all around us and just brought us fresh cool wind. At one time there were over one hundred people on the roof, labour, villagers, even village women with small children came to watch this spectacle. Three working teams worked very skillfully and we could complete this major task. Thanks to all those who made this possible !
Before the rainy season we hope to do the roof of the building for the women's college and model primary school at Uma Nivas, Ananda Nagar. We appreciate and welcome your kind help to make this possible. This is the big moment for this building - to have a roof!
We will catch the rainwater from the roof into containers and into a natural pond. Any experts in water harvesting are most welcome to give us your advise. Manage water in the community is a big challenge that we would like to address once our construction work is done. Along with water management would be also soil improvement, reforestation and around the year cultivation. "Aesthetics is surely a science, for it moves according to fixed and self-created rules. But the realization of aesthetic feeling is not a science, rather it is a high-grade art" - Shrii Prabhat Rainjan Sarkar
At Uma Nivas girls find en environment where they unfold with dynamism, high standard of care, beauty and pure nature. There are 85 girls boarding at the High School harmoniously without any quarrels of high voices day in and day out. It is a joy to meet them. The college we are constructing will help many of them to further their studies in the same style. We are working on the walls of the first floor. This floor will be the Women's College. We have now reached 40% of the total construction including boundary wall and water catchment. Our next major milestone is the final roof to be done in the month of August/September. This will cost about 25,000 $. We are grateful for your generous contribution to make this happen. Thank you so much for being part of this project.
